Share Your Success Story

Do you have a success story to share? Do you know of an employee at your location that may have one? We’d love to hear about employees shedding a few pounds, lowering blood pressure, or diet and exercise tips. Whatever the wellness journey has been at your location, we want to hear about it! Your stories can motivate and encourage others to embark on their own wellness journey.

If you or an employee at your location does have a story they’d like to share, post it on this website so others can read about it and comment. You never know how many people one little story can impact…

  • We had a Treasure Hunt to encourage our employees to walk during their lunch hour or before/after work. Below is the language we used in our flyer. We included a page of photographs our Wellness Team took of things/points of interest for employees to find which were within a 30 minute walk of our work place. All participants received 1 wellness point. Wellness Team members Cindy Albin and Jenny Burger came up with and implemented this project last year.

“Welcome to Antietam Cable’s Wellness Treasure Hunt! It’s fun and easy to participate – just take a healthy walk around the surrounding streets and look for the following items. Fill in the location information and submit it to either Jenny Burger or Cindy Albin and you could win one of 3 great prizes! To give you a head start, a map is included to give you an idea of the search area. In the event of a tie, a drawing will be held to determine the winners. Please submit your entries no later than October 28th. The winners will be announced on October 31st.
1st place prize is $30 gift card to Sam’s Club, 2nd and 3rd prizes are $20 gift cards to Sam’s Club.
Use the lines below to tell us where the corresponding treasure is located:”

This is another idea we’re doing right now. It’s such a win-win for the Humane Society and for our employees who get to wear jeans and also get a wellness point.

Cindy Albin and Jan Baker had the idea and developed the language.

Casual (Jeans) Thursday for the Humane Society of Washington County – plus earn one Wellness Point for participating.

Antietam Cable is sponsoring a Casual (Jeans) Thursday on April 19th to benefit our local Humane Society. The Humane Society of Washington County is in desperate need of the following items:

Bags of Pedigree Dog or Puppy Food
Bags of Purina Cat or Kitten Chow

In addition, we will accept a minimum $5 cash donation in lieu of a bag of food.

In order to participate, donations must be received no later than April 19th. Bring your donated items to Jan Baker in the 990 building or Cindy Albin in the 1000 building. All donated items will be taken to the Humane Society on April 20th. This counts as a social wellness activity so all participants will receive one Wellness point.

Wear your jeans to work and support a worthy cause PLUS earn a Wellness Point!
